How Epsilon Labs hired two highly specialized engineers
Epsilon Labs is building the future of radiology. The US is facing a critical radiology shortage, and Epsilon Labs is developing multi-modal models (image/video to text) to help radiologists handle 2-3x more cases with higher accuracy. With misdiagnosis rates already at 5% – and 132M medical images taken annually – this urgently needs to be solved.
The Challenge: Finding Specialized Technical Talent
As Epsilon Labs expanded, it became clear that they needed to bolster their team with specialized technical talent to continue their growth journey. The recruitment process, however, was anything but straightforward. Rustin Rassoli, the founder of Epsilon Labs, faced significant challenges in sourcing the right candidates using traditional tools like LinkedIn.
"Using LinkedIn to find specialized tech talent is really tough," Rustin admitted. "We were specifically looking for engineers with expertise in both computer vision and healthcare, a niche combination that was difficult to find." The sheer volume of profiles on LinkedIn, coupled with the difficulty in narrowing down candidates who met their stringent criteria, made the process slow and inefficient.
Switching to Juicebox: A Game-Changer for Recruiting
Recognizing the limitations of traditional recruitment methods, Epsilon Labs decided to switch their strategy and integrate Juicebox into their hiring process. Rustin was immediately impressed with the platform's capabilities. “Juicebox changed the way we searched completely,” he shared. The platform’s semantic search functionality allowed Epsilon Labs to bypass the complex Boolean strings and filter tweaking that had previously bogged them down.
"With Juicebox, I could search for founding engineers with both computer vision and healthcare experience effortlessly," Rustin explained. The platform’s ability to understand the nuances of these niche requirements made the search process significantly more efficient. Juicebox also offered advanced filtering options that allowed Epsilon Labs to hone in on candidates with the right blend of skills and experience, making it easier to identify top-tier talent.
Achieving Rapid Results with Juicebox’s Integrated Tools
Once the ideal candidates were identified, Epsilon Labs took advantage of Juicebox’s built-in Email Outreach feature to connect with potential hires. The ability to reach out to a large number of candidates – Rustin estimates around 1,000 – in a personalized manner was a game-changer, allowing Epsilon Labs to cast a wide net while maintaining a high level of precision in their selections.
"In just a few weeks, we were able to hire two key engineers: a Computer Vision Engineer and an NLP Engineer. All of these profiles met our niche requirements and high standards."
Conclusion: Building a Future with the Right Talent
Epsilon Labs’ success story highlights the importance of having the right tools in place to support a growing company’s recruitment efforts. With Juicebox, Rustin Rassoli was able to take control of the recruitment process, ensuring that Epsilon Labs could continue to innovate and expand with a team of top-notch engineers.
“I’m a big fan of Juicebox,” Rustin concluded. “It makes every founder's and recruiter's life so much easier.”
