A Lean Ambitious Team Looking for Better Data

Monte Carlo’s recruiting team is lean, but mighty. With four recruiters split across technical and go-to-market roles, they manage sourcing across engineering, security, data, design, and sales.

Like many teams, they’ve cycled through different tools over the years.

“I start all my sourcing in Juicebox, and then depending if we're planning on messaging them through LinkedIn — that’s when we’ll take them out of Juicebox.”

For the Monte Carlo team, the biggest immediate difference was our data quality and filter strength. 

“The results are very strong and very aligned with what I’m looking for. The filters — I’m obsessed with the filters in Juicebox.”

Compared to other platforms, their team also noticed more accurate experience and fresher data, making it easier for Monte Carlo’s recruiters to build strong shortlists, faster.

“With other tools, I’d click on a profile and see they’d left the company a year ago. But with Juicebox, I don’t see that as much, I’d say Juicebox is 75 to 80% more accurate than other platforms.”

Collaboration was also easier across the team. Recruiters could share company presets and filter logic, so everyone started with the same foundation, especially helpful when onboarding new teammates.

“I think it's really good. The jobs from Ashby are all there in Juicebox. I haven't had any integration issues!”

One of Monte Carlo’s favorite features is the ability to instantly see if a candidate already exists in Ashby directly from Juicebox.

“It’s nice that through Juicebox, I can see if a candidate is already in Ashby. That signal is really helpful.”

That visibility helped prevent duplicate outreach, and saved the team from switching between tools and tabs mid-search.

“With other tools, sometimes I have to double-check in Ashby, and it’s annoying to go back and forth. So the fact that you have that signal of whether they’re already in Ashby — that’s really helpful.”

Hiring 2 Senior Engineers in 3 Weeks

The first two hires Monte Carlo made using Juicebox were two senior backend engineers. Both roles were filled quickly, and with Juicebox, the process looked very different from the past.

Brenda used Juicebox filters to narrow candidates by tenure and company, helping her focus faster and avoid reviewing irrelevant profiles.

“We’re very into filtering for high tenure. The filter for time span at companies is really, really strong for us and very aligned with what we’re looking for.”

Compared to legacy tools, the team found Juicebox to be simpler, faster, and better designed for day-to-day use.

“It’s probably cut my sourcing time in half. Findem was super clicky, with a lot of steps. Juicebox is cleaner and quicker to use.”
