Juicebox App, Inc. (“Juicebox”, “we”, or “us”) offers an AI-powered people search and discovery tool to discover and engage with job candidates.
Juicebox respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Juicebox collects, uses, and discloses personal information obtained through our website (“Site”), which is located at https://juicebox.ai/, as well as information that we collect and process from or about job candidates as part of offering you our services. (collectively, with the Site, the “Services”). By using our Services, you are agreeing to the terms of this Policy.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to personal information that we process on behalf of our customers, such as information pertaining to our customers’ authorized users of our services. We process this information as instructed by our customers, in our capacity as a service provider/data processor, in accordance with the terms of our customer agreements.
Our use of AI-powered PeopleGPT
Juicebox uses an AI-powered search engine, PeopleGPT, to provide an effective way for customers who purchase our products and services to acquire, engage, and retain talent. Specifically, customers can use PeopleGPT to put together search strategies for job applicants who meet certain criteria, and generate personalized messages to applicants of interest.
We may use third-party providers such as OpenAI and Mistral to power parts of our search engine, but we do not allow these providers to train their AI models using your data and we require these providers to delete your data within 30 days unless otherwise required by law
As a customer of Juicebox, you may opt out of using any AI models. To do so, contact privacy@juicebox.work
Personal information we collect and sources of information
Public information we collect about job candidates
If you have a profile, resume, or CV on a publicly-available website, we may collect public information about your professional qualifications and contact information to provide to our customers.
The information we collect about you may include personal information such as your first and last name, education, professional or employment-related qualifications (years of experience, publications, skills, etc.), work history, work title, contact information (e.g. phone number and email address), and other employment-related experience.
The information collected about job candidates is used by our customers to discover and engage with candidates. We do not collect sensitive data (e.g., health or political affiliation) from any of these public sources.
We may infer other characteristics about job candidates based on the information provided on their profiles.
Other information we collect about job candidates
Our customers may also create custom job candidate profiles from personal information they maintain regarding job candidates. In this situation, Juicebox is acting as a processor of the personal information associated with the profile, and only processes this information on behalf of that customer. This job candidate profile information is not available to other customers using Juicebox’s PeopleGPT search engine.
Information we collect from website visitors
When you make a request to receive information about our services, book a demo, contact our sales team or customer support team, or sign up for a Juicebox account, you provide us with certain information, such as:
Business contact details, including your first and last name and email address.
Account information, such as your account credentials, billing information, payment information and other information used to administer your account, include the services you have purchased or may be interested in.
Communications that we exchange with you, including when you contact us with questions, feedback, or otherwise.
Marketing information, such as your preferences for receiving communications about our services and publications, and details about how you engage with our communications
Other information that we may collect which is not specifically listed here, but which we will use in accordance with this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.
We also automatically collect certain information about you and your computer, smartphone, or other device when you use, access, or interact with our Site.
Social media information
We may maintain pages on social media platforms, such as Twitter and LinkedIn. When you visit or interact with our pages on those platforms, you or the platforms may provide us with information about you.
Information we may collect from other sources
We may obtain personal information about business customers or job applicants from third parties, such as marketing partners and data providers, to update, expand, and analyze our records, identify new prospects for sourcing, and provide information or job vacancies that may be of interest to our customers.
Automatic data collection
When you use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically log information from your computer (or other device) and your browser about you, your computer or mobile device, and your interaction over time with our services, such as:
Device data, such as your computer’s or mobile device’s operating system, manufacturer and model, browser type, IP address, unique identifiers, language settings, mobile device carrier, and general location information such as city, state or geographic area; and
Usage data, such as pages or screens you viewed, how long you spent on a page, browsing history, and access times.

Third-party online tracking and behavioral advertising
We may partner with certain third parties to collect, analyze, and use the personal and other information described in this section. For example, we may allow third parties to set cookies or use web beacons on the Site or in email communications from us. This information may be used for a variety of purposes, including online interest-based advertising.
How we use personal information
Our legal bases for processing your personal information are: 1) our legitimate interest in running and maintaining our business; 2) performance and fulfillment of our contracts, including providing the services you requested; 3) consent from users of our Services or consent received and stored by the third-party websites that host the publicly-available data; and 4) compliance with our legal obligations (e.g., to maintain a record of your consents and tracking user opt-outs from our Site, where appropriate).
Use of job candidate information
We use the personal information of job candidates to help our customers discover and engage with internal and external job candidates and analyze attributes of existing personnel or internal talent. Juicebox processes personal information relating to job candidates in PeopleGPT database to provide a dynamic recruitment search platform for our customers. Job candidate information in the PeopleGPT database is used by our customers to better source and match internal and external candidates with appropriate job opportunities. Customers’ use of our Services, including the database and search engine, is subject to our Terms of Service or other applicable agreement.
If a job candidate wishes to change or restrict the use of their information by the Services, follow the steps in the Privacy Rights and Choices section below.
Use of information about website visitors (including representatives of prospective and current business customers)
We use this personal information for the following purposes:
To provide our services
We use personal information to operate, maintain, and provide you with our services. In particular, we use personal information to perform our contractual obligations under our Terms and Conditions.
To communicate about our services
It is in our legitimate business interests to use personal information to respond to your requests, provide customer support, and communicate with you about our services, including by sending announcements, updates, security alerts and support and administrative message
To improve, monitor, personalize, and protect our services
It is in our legitimate business interests to improve and keep our services safe for our users, which includes:
understanding your needs and interests, and personalize your experience with the services and our communications;
troubleshooting, testing and research and to keep the services secure; and
investigating and protecting against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized or illegal activity.
For research and development.
We may use personal information for research and development purposes in our legitimate business interests, including to analyze and improve the services and our business. As part of these activities, we may create or use aggregated, de-identified or other anonymized data from personal information we collect. We make personal information into anonymized data by removing information that makes the data personally identifiable to you. We may use this anonymized data and share it with third parties for our lawful business purposes, including to analyze and improve the services and promote our business.
For direct marketing and serving advertisements
We may send you direct marketing communications as permitted by law, including by email. You may opt-out of our marketing communications as described in the Unsubscribe from direct marketing communications section below. Except where consent is required, we undertake such marketing on the basis of our legitimate business interests. Where we seek your consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time.
Analytics
We partner with certain third parties to obtain the automatically collected information discussed above and to engage in analysis, auditing, research, and reporting. These third parties may use web logs or web beacons, and they may set and access cookies on your computer or other device. In particular, the Site uses Google Analytics to help collect and analyze certain information for the purposes discussed above. You may opt out of the use of cookies by Google Analytics by configuring your Cookie Preferences in the footer of the website.
Interest-based advertising
The Site also enables third-party tracking mechanisms to collect information about you and your computing devices for use in online interest-based advertising. For example, third parties may use the fact that you visited our Site to target online ads to you. In addition, our third-party advertising networks might use information about your use of our Site to help target advertisements based on your online activity in general. For information about interest-based advertising practices, including privacy and confidentiality, visit the Network Advertising Initiative website or the Digital Advertising Alliance website.
The use of online tracking mechanisms by third parties is subject to those third parties’ privacy policies, and not this Policy. If you prefer to prevent third parties from setting and accessing cookies on your computer or other device, you may set your browser to block cookies. Additionally, you may remove yourself from the targeted advertising of companies within the Network Advertising Initiative by opting out here, or of companies participating in the Digital Advertising Alliance by opting out here.
For compliance and protection
We may use personal information to comply with legal obligations, and to defend us against legal claims or disputes, including to:
Protect our, your or others’ rights, privacy, safety or property (including by making and defending legal claims);
audit our internal processes for compliance with legal and contractual requirements and internal policies;
enforce the terms and conditions that govern the services;
prevent, identify, investigate and deter fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity, including cyberattacks and identity theft; and
comply with applicable laws, lawful requests and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities.
How we disclose personal information
We may disclose personal information to:
Our customers, with whom we share job candidate data with for the customers’ use for their own business purposes. We may also share this information with a customer’s service provider at the customer’s direction.
Service providers, that provide services on our behalf or help us operate our services or our business (such as hosting, communications, data and cyber security, billing and payment processing, fraud detection, investigation and prevention, web and mobile analytics, email and communication distribution and monitoring, and customer relation management systems).
Third-party AI providers, such as OpenAI, that we use to help support our PeopleGPT tool. We require these providers to use your information only for the purpose of facilitating the PeopleGPT tool, and we do not allow these providers to train their AI models using your personal information. We require these providers to delete personal information within 30 days, unless otherwise required by law.
Professional advisors, such as lawyers, auditors, bankers and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.
Law enforcement, government authorities, and private parties, as we believe in good faith to be necessary or appropriate, for the compliance and protection purposes described above.
Acquirers and other relevant participants in business transactions (or negotiations for such transactions) involving a corporate divestiture, merger, consolidation, acquisition, reorganization, sale or other disposition of all or any portion of the business or assets of, or equity interests in, Juicebox or our affiliates (including, in connection with a bankruptcy or similar proceedings).
Privacy rights and choices
Unsubscribe from direct marketing communications.
You may opt out of marketing-related communications by following the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions contained in the marketing communication we send you. You may continue to receive service-related and other non-marketing communications.
Online tracking opt-out.
You can opt out of third-party cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.
Privacy rights requests.
We also offer you choices that affect how we handle the personal information that we control. Depending on your location and the nature of your interactions with our services, you may request the following in relation to personal information:
Information about how we have collected and used personal information. We have made this information available to you without having to request it by including it in this Privacy Policy.
Access to a copy of the personal information that we have collected about you. Where applicable, we will provide the information in a portable, machine-readable, readily usable format.
Correction of personal information that is inaccurate or out of date.
Deletion of personal information that we no longer need to provide the services or for other lawful purposes.
Remove your information from our database / opt out of sale. If you request removal of your information from our database, we will remove your information from our search results and will not use or share your personal information.
Additional rights, such as to object to and request that we restrict our use of personal information.
Appeal our denial of your privacy request by contacting us as set out below.
To make a request, please email us or write to us as provided in the How to Contact Us section below or visit the Juicebox Privacy Center. We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably possible and within the timeframe required under applicable law. We may ask for specific information from you to help us verify your identity.
Depending on where you reside, you may be entitled to empower an “authorized agent” to submit requests on your behalf. To designate an agent, please provide a written and signed document by both you and the agent that authorizes the agent to act on your behalf. You may also use a power of attorney. We will still require you to provide information to allow us to reasonably verify that you are the person about whom we collected personal information. You are entitled to exercise the rights described above free from discrimination.
You may appeal any decision we make in response to a data subject request in accordance with applicable law. Appeals may be submitted to privacy@juicebox.work with the subject line “Appeal of Decision Related to Privacy Rights Request.”

Limits on your privacy rights and choices.
In some instances, your choices may be limited, such as where fulfilling your request would impair the rights of others, our ability to provide a service you have requested, or our ability to comply with our legal obligations and enforce our legal rights. If you are not satisfied with how we address your request, you may submit a complaint by contacting us as provided in the How to Contact Us section below. Depending on where you reside, such as if you reside in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may have the right to complain to a data protection regulator where you live or work, or where you feel a violation has occurred.
International data transfers
You may provide personal information directly to our website in the United States. We may also transfer personal information to our affiliates and service providers in the United States and other jurisdictions. Please note that such jurisdictions may not provide the same protections as the data protection laws in your home country.
When we engage in cross-border data transfers, we will ensure that relevant safeguards are in place to afford adequate protection for personal information and we will comply with applicable data protection laws, in particular by relying on an EU Commission or UK government adequacy decision or on contractual protections for the transfer of personal information.

Retention of personal information
Where required under applicable laws, we retain personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and processed, in accordance with our retention policies, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory obligations or until you withdraw your consent (where applicable).
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of personal information, the purposes for which we use personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Other sites and services
Our Services may contain links to websites and other online services operated by third parties. In addition, our content may be integrated into web pages or other online services that are not associated with us. These links and integrations are not an endorsement of, or representation that we are affiliated with, any third party. We do not control websites or online services operated by third parties, and we are not responsible for their actions. This Privacy Policy does not apply to such third-party sites or services.
API services
Juicebox's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google Workspace APIs are not used to develop, improve, or train generalized AI and/or ML models.
Data security
We employ a number of technical, organizational and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect. However, no security measures are failsafe, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.
Children
Our services are not intended for use by children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information through our services from a child under 16 without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian as required by law, we will take reasonable measures to delete it.
Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you.

Purposes for Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Information
We collect, use, or disclose your personal information to the entities listed above for the following purposes:
· Provide you with our Services, including PeopleGPT, Talent Insights, Email Outreach, and to provide you with potential recruitment activities;
· Communicate about our Services;
· Improve, monitor, personalize, and protect our Services, including improving the artificial intelligence within our search engine, PeopleGPT;
· Understand customers’ needs and interests, and personalize the experience with the services and our communications;
· Investigate and protect against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized or illegal activity;
· Facilitate business transitions, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets;
· Serve advertisements and direct marketing; and
· Fulfill legal requirements and meet compliance obligations.
Your Rights
If we maintain personal information about you that is subject to the CCPA, you may exercise certain rights in connection with this data if you are a California resident.
Right to Know
California residents have the right to request that we disclose certain information about our collection and use of your personal information over the past twelve months ("Right to Know"). Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will disclose to you:
· The categories of personal information we collected about you.
· The categories of sources for the personal information we collected about you.
· The categories of personal information that we have disclosed for a business or commercial purpose.
· Our business or commercial purposes for collecting, selling, or sharing personal information.
· The categories of third parties with whom we share or disclose that personal information.
· The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you (i.e., a data portability request).
Right to Delete
California residents have the right to request that we delete the personal information that we collected from you and retain, subject to certain exceptions (“Right to Delete”). Once we receive and verify your request, we will delete (and direct our service providers/contractors to delete) your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies.
Right to Correct
California residents have the right to correct or amend the personal information we have on file (“Right to Correct”). You may correct or amend by logging into your account or by contacting us using the information below.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing
The CCPA provides California residents with the right to opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of their personal information (“Right to Opt Out”). If you wish to opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, please email us at privacy@juicebox.work, write to us as provided in the Contact Us section below or visit the Juicebox Privacy Center.
We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of California residents under the age of 16.
Right to Limit the Use of Your Sensitive Personal Information
The CCPA provides California residents with the right to limit the use of their “sensitive personal information” to the purposes outlined in Cal. Code Regs. tit. 11, § 7027(m) of the CCPA regulations. We do not collect your sensitive personal information.
Right to Nondiscrimination
The CCPA provides California residents with the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for the exercise of their privacy rights conferred by the CCPA. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
Exercising Your Rights
If you are a California resident and wish to exercise any of the above rights, you may submit a request to us by email at privacy@juicebox.work or write to us as provided in the Contact Us section below or visit the Juicebox Privacy Center.
When you submit a request, we will confirm your identity by asking you to provide information associated with what we have on file for you, including your name, email address, and other identifying information. We may ask you for additional information to verify your identity or to comply with your request.
Authorized Agent
You may authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf. To designate an agent, please provide a written and signed document by both you and the agent that authorizes the agent to act on your behalf. You may also use a power of attorney. We will still require you to provide information to allow us to reasonably verify that you are the person about whom we collected personal information.
Data Retention
Where required under applicable laws, we retain personal information (including all of the data categories listed above) only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and processed, in accordance with our retention policies, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory obligations or until you withdraw your consent (where applicable). When we destroy your personal information, we do so in a way that prevents that information from being restored or reconstructed.

Shine the Light Law
In addition to the CCPA, California's "Shine the Light" law, Civil Code section 1798.83, requires certain businesses to respond to requests from California customers asking about the businesses' practices related to disclosing personal information to third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes. Alternately, such businesses may have in place a policy not to disclose personal information of customers to third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes if the customer has exercised an option to opt out of such information sharing. We have such a policy. As discussed above, if you want to opt out of any sharing of your information, please contact us using the information below.
